About me
Hi, I’m Sarah. I was born in London and have lived in different parts of the UK, so I have a neutral southeast English accent. I know exactly what it means to learn a language online and how challenging it can be. I studied for a degree in Spanish and Sociology at the Open University (OU), a distance learning university with entirely online classes. Therefore, I understand your process and the motivation it takes to keep learning from home.
My experience
I started teaching English while living in Peru, after becoming TEFL certified in 2008. Therefore, I have experience moving to a new country while learning a new language.
I graduated as a Montessori primary school teacher (ages 5-11) and worked in a primary school in the UK. This gave me extensive experience using various teaching methods for different students.
The Montessori method isn’t just for children. It has taught me to give each student the time and space they need to find the answers for themselves. It also encourages students to take ownership of their learning. Every student is different, and there is more than one way to learn.
I currently live in the Canary Islands, Spain.
